Analytics and reporting in Grande Prairie.

Almost every local business is spending money on marketing it cannot measure. Not because the tools are missing, but because nobody ever set them up to count the thing that matters, which is the phone ringing.

Half of it works. Which half?

You can see sessions, impressions and clicks in three different dashboards, and still have no idea which of them produced the four jobs you booked last week. That gap is where marketing budgets get wasted and defended.

The usual setup is analytics installed years ago and never configured, so it counts page views and nothing else. No conversions defined, calls not tracked at all, and the forms firing into an inbox nobody connected to anything.

So the reporting that comes back is about traffic. Traffic is up, bounce rate is down, here is a graph. None of that answers the only question you asked, which is whether the money is coming back.

Fixing it is not glamorous and it is not expensive. Define what counts as a lead, make sure calls and forms both register as one, tag the sources properly and then report on that. After which every other service on this site can be judged rather than believed.

What gets set up.

Counting the right things first, then reporting on them in language a business owner can use.

  1. GA4 configured to count leads

Not just installed. Conversion events defined for the things that matter, so the numbers describe your business rather than your traffic.

  2. Calls tracked as conversions

Most local leads arrive as phone calls. Counting only forms undercounts everything and teaches ad platforms the wrong thing about what works.

  3. Sources tagged so credit lands right

Campaign tagging, Search Console linked, Google Business Profile and ad platforms connected. Otherwise half your leads land in a bucket labelled direct and tell you nothing.

  4. Google Search Console read properly

What people actually typed to find you, which pages answered them and which searches you are close to winning. The most useful free data in marketing and the least opened.

  5. A monthly report in plain language

Calls, forms, where they came from, what moved and what is being done about it. One page, no glossary, no screenshot of a dashboard you have never logged into.

  6. Privacy handled honestly

Consent and cookie handling set up so the tracking is legitimate. Being able to measure your marketing is not a reason to be careless with your customers.

Four steps, no mystery.

Marketing gets sold as a mystery.

This runs the opposite way.

Same four steps, every month.

  1. Step 01 of 04

    Free audit

We look at where you actually rank today, what your Google Business Profile is doing, which competitors are taking the work you want and whether anything is even tracking the calls. You get a plain read on it. No charge, no obligation.

  2. Step 02 of 04

    Plan and quote

One page, plain language. What gets worked on first, what it costs and what should change because of it. The number on that page is the number you pay, and nothing starts until you say so.

  3. Step 03 of 04

    Do the work

Rankings, profile, ads, content, tracking, whichever of those the audit said actually matters for you. You see what went out and why, rather than a list of tasks invented to fill a retainer.

  4. Step 04 of 04

    Report and adjust

Every month you get calls, forms and where they came from, in language you can read without a glossary. Then the next month goes on whatever that told us, and drops whatever it did not.

The reporting, in their words.

The usual questions.

Do I need Google Analytics if I have a Google Business Profile?

They answer different questions. The profile tells you about map views and calls from the listing. Analytics tells you what happens on your site. Together with call tracking they give you the whole path, and most businesses only have a piece of it.

What is call tracking and do I need it?

It shows which marketing source produced each phone call, usually by using tracking numbers that ring through to your real line. If most of your leads come by phone, and around here they do, then without it your reporting is guessing.

Will tracking numbers hurt my local SEO?

Not when it is set up properly. The trouble comes from tracking numbers scattered through citations and profiles where the real one should be. Done correctly, your published number stays consistent and the tracking sits behind it.

What does the monthly report look like?

One page. Calls and forms, where they came from, what changed since last month, what is being worked on next. If a number went the wrong way it is in there with the reason, because a report that only carries good news is not a report.

Can you fix analytics somebody else set up?

Yes, and that is most of this work. Usually it is installed twice, counting nothing useful, or filtering out your own visits was never done so your own staff inflate every figure.
