E-commerce website design in Grande Prairie.
Stores built around the buying, not the browsing. Fast product pages, a checkout that works one handed on a phone, and the tracking wired up at launch so you know what a sale actually costs you.
Carts get abandoned for boring reasons.
An online store is not a catalogue with a cart bolted onto it. Every extra second, every surprise fee and every field between wanting the thing and owning it is a customer you paid to attract and then talked back out of it.
Almost nobody abandons a cart because they changed their mind about the product. They leave because shipping appeared at the last step, because the store made them create an account, or because the page was still loading while they were standing in a parking lot on two bars.
Those are all fixable, and they are all decisions made during design. Once a store is built the wrong way around, tacking on a discount code is the only lever left, and discounting your way out of a checkout problem is expensive.
What a store needs.
Six things decide whether an online store makes money. All six are design decisions, and all six are included.
Book a free audit-
Product pages that answer the question
Real photography, honest specs, live stock status and the shipping cost visible well before the cart. Most abandoned carts are not price problems, they are surprise problems.
-
A checkout with the friction taken out
Guest checkout as standard, saved details, the payment methods people here actually use, and a flow that can be finished one handed on a phone without pinching to zoom.
-
Store SEO built into the structure
Category and product pages Google can read, product and offer schema, clean URLs and content written around what people search for rather than what your supplier calls it in the wholesale catalogue.
-
Speed that survives a full catalogue
Modern image formats, a proper media pipeline and lazy loading, so the store is still fast at four hundred products instead of only at the twelve it launched with.
-
Local pickup treated as a feature
If someone in Grande Prairie can pick it up today, that should be on the product page, not buried in a shipping policy. Pickup, delivery zones and in store availability go where the decision actually gets made.
-
The numbers wired up at launch
Analytics, conversion tracking and abandoned cart recovery set up before the store goes live, so month one gives you real data instead of a gap you can never go back and fill.
About the platform.
Shopify for most stores, because it is dependable, it handles payments and taxes properly and it does not need babysitting. WooCommerce when you already have one and moving would cost more than it is worth. A custom build when the catalogue is genuinely unusual.
The platform gets decided with you after the audit, based on what you sell and who has to run it day to day. You will never be handed a platform because it happens to be the one that is easiest to resell.
Four steps, no mystery.
Web design gets sold as a mystery.
Vague quotes, moving deadlines, and a long quiet stretch in the middle.
This runs the opposite way.
You always know what is being built, what it costs and when it lands.
Same four steps, every project.
Nothing starts until you have seen the plan and said yes.
Online stores, in their words.

The usual questions.
Should I use Shopify or WooCommerce?
For most local businesses Shopify, because payments, taxes and security are handled for you and it stays fast without maintenance. WooCommerce makes sense when you are already on WordPress and the store is a small part of a bigger site. We make that call together after looking at what you sell.
How much does an online store cost to build?
It comes down to how many products you have, how complicated shipping is and whether anything needs to talk to your existing systems. You get one quote on a free call before anything starts, with no surprise costs added later.
Can you move my existing store without losing rankings?
Yes, and this is the part most rebuilds get wrong. Every existing product and category URL gets mapped to its new home and redirected, so the rankings and links you have already earned follow you across instead of falling off a cliff on launch day.
How many products can the store handle?
As many as you sell. What matters is that the store is built so search, filtering and page speed still hold up as the catalogue grows, which is a design decision made at the start rather than a problem discovered at product three hundred.
Do you set up payments, shipping and taxes?
Yes. Payment processing, Alberta and out of province tax handling, shipping rates and pickup options are all configured and tested before launch, and you get shown how to change them yourself afterwards.
Can customers order online and pick up in store?
Yes, and for a lot of Grande Prairie businesses that is where most of the orders end up going. Local pickup, delivery zones and store availability are built into the product pages rather than hidden in a policy page nobody reads.
